Mealtime is generally a really big stressor in our home as Jensen was diagnosed as Failure to Thrive. She has always been on the small side and at our last pediatrician visit this past spring it really hit home for us. After tears, tests, endless hours of occupational and food therapy and learning how to make mealtime fun and experimental, we met our goal! She is nearing the weight to get her back on her growth curve and our meals are gradually becoming a more customary part of her interest.
As we slowly approach a smooth mealtime routine we have been lucky to be introduced to Marcus&Marcus and their BPA/Phthalate Free, dishwasher safe Amusement Mats and Learning Chopsticks. The silicone Amusemat is a particular favorite of ours as it really promotes food play and sparks interest in eating. It is so heart-pulling that the simplest of products can hit so close to home for our struggles and effortlessly help us achieve our ending goal. Food play is not something that we had previously encouraged in our home because eating was such an emotional struggle as is. When our food therapist had recommended the Marcus&Marcus Amusemat we immediately hopped on board for a sponsored post. At Little Gummi, we love to promote and share products that actually work for us and we know will work for you. One of the most joyous moments are knowing that your Little is thriving and growing and with tears streaming down face as I share just a tidbit of our unknown, private struggle, it also brings me happiness knowing that there are amazing products that truly help children and families going through similar experiences as our own.
Even if you don’t share the scenario that we do, the Marcus&Marcus Amusemat will bring so much fun to any Little. Jensen loves watching her food go down the ‘slide’ and hop in the ‘pool’ and for the moment it brings fun to mealtime and takes the stress away from Mama!
Couple the Amusemat with the Learning Chopsticks and you get a super fun and safe culinary experience. Jensen is nearing 3 and has no issue using her Learning Chopsticks on anything that she is able to. The Food-Grade, Silicone Learning Chopsticks are BPA-free, PVC-free and phthalate-free materials and promote a great way to teach and learn.
Both the Learning Chopsticks and Amusemat are available from Marcus&Marcus here or using the shop link below and include a variety of themes and colors to fit any Little’s need!
One of the most important moments we share with our children are those surrounded by mealtimes and cooking. At Little Gummi we love using products that bring our Littles right alongside us from preparing a meal to enjoying it and True-Growth True Tot Tower does just that.
We have kind of a unique love for our True Tot Tower as we use ours to encourage meals and make food prep fun. With a daughter who is Failure To Thrive, one of the most heart wrenching activities for us are those surrounding meals and we have found the best solution to the stress is inclusion.
Parenting is by far not an easy journey and a lot of times, for us at least, we look for products that help use pave the road for parenting success. Having one child that needs just a little bit more attention than the other means finding the right products to make that time easy. True Growth True Tot Tower does just that. We have gone from headaches and mealtime angst to using the True Tot Tower to teach and encourage all forms of mealtime success.
Our daughter absolutely loves getting out her Tower and knowing it puts her front and center in choosing and creating her own meal time path. She ultimately feels in control when she is using the True Tot Tower and that is so important in creating a healthy, food positive environment for her.
One of my favorite aspects about the True Tot Tower is it allows for your child to be right up in the action as opposed to standing on a chair or perhaps sitting on the counter. It is extremely sturdy and gives just enough independence to flourish any up and coming future cooks desire.
The True Tot Tower comes in a few different finishes and folds up nicely to store. We usually don’t have to store ours as we use it twice a day and what feels like 24/7. I mean, cooking takes a while! It is very easy to put together, in just a few pieces and about 20 minutes (if you’re savvy) you’ll be using yours moments after!
We just moved into our mountain home, so for photos of our True Tot Tower in use, check our instagram and in the meantime, shop your very own using the link below
As a breastfeeding momma and supporter at Little Gummi, the struggles of finding nursing wear that is convenient yet subtle is very real. I have never been one to nurse in a closed room or bathroom and am generally okay with public feeding (baby’s gotta eat!) but the one thing that has always been a bother for me is having any inkling of body showing during a nursing session. It’s just uncomfortable for me. BeliBea makes a nursing tank top that can easily take that anxiety away!
With Cars 3 fresh in the cinema we partnered with The First Years to bring you a booster seat that will have your Little zooming in to meal time like Lighting McQueen.
At Little Gummi we love products that make meal time easier, especially with very exploratory kids who have other agendas. When you bring in a product that your child loves just as much as you do, things get that much easier! The First Years Disney/Pixar Cars Booster Seat is great in that it can work not only on your standard dining chair using the table top, but also with its own individual top as well. Just remember, it is never to be used aside from a chair and this can be easily secured using the provided straps.
The booster seat comes equipped with everything you need to bring your little Racer to the Family meal:
- straps to secure the booster to the chair
- A lid that is dishwasher safe and fully adjustable to fit snug to your Littles body so it truly grows with your little one
- A built in cup holder
- Three Point Harness for safety. The adjustment is so easy on this.
- Foldable back for easy storage and transportation
We absolutely love that the The First Years seat can be folded and taken on-the-go especially during travel so your Little doesn’t lose their regime even during something like meal time! This is really important for us as we maintain a really strict eating schedule for our children. With our daughter having special attention to her mealtime needs, one of the things that helps her stay on track and focus is familiarity so anything that is portable, such as The First Years booster is a definite win for us!
Recommended for: We recommend The First Years Disney/Pixar Cars Booster Seat for your little racer between 6months and 50 pounds who ideally can sit up unassisted. This gender neutral booster will be a hit for any home and on the go as it customized for optimal comfort for any babe. Settling in as a new, or seasoned parent can arise many questions. The baby world is always changing and improving and that doesn’t stop with breast pumps. From the original 1800’s hand pump “governed by feeling and intelligence” to todays pump that is smart phone compatible, there’s no wonder this hot market item is always changing to adapt to us, the mothers, the feeders and the providers. Lansinoh is leading the industry with their Double Electric Breast Pump and we had to share.
As we incorporate more products for parents on Little Gummi, we are looking for things that ultimately make parent-life easier throughout the chaotic journey that turns us in to baby maniacs. We want to introduce you to Bubi, the space saving, scrunchable, reusable bottle that can easily fit in your back pocket and will keep everything dry that your Little one doesn’t get to first!
At Little Gummi, one of our most treasured times is when we can introduce ice cream to our babes. I know, super sweet but when dad is an ice cream junky you have to start the good flavors young! If you don’t want your teeny babe having the frozen treat though, at least pretend with Baby Sweetooth, the sweetest teether ever
As mothers we usually have our hands full the majority of times, rather with children, toys, running a business or making lunches. This can often times be a hassle when it comes to nursing and pumping. As an exclusive nurser, even I find it difficult to just sit back and feed Miller without something else on my mind and while I can’t be doing anything else during our feeding session, I make at least ten lists of things I need to do after. The times I have pumped have always included multi-tasking in various ways and if you read some of my other pumping stories, this also usually includes lots of tears of spilled milk. Lactamed Hands-Free bra understood this when they created their pumping bra for moms like us at Little Gummi.
How many times have you gone to your well checks and the pedi asks “How many wet nappies? How long does baby feed? Does baby do her nights yet?” If you answer “uhhh” like we do, then Duo Diary is for you! This wellness journal designed for caregiver and baby makes the daily routines so much easier especially when you really want to pass the quiz from your Littles pediatrician.
At some point or another I’m sure you’ve heard about toilet training techniques to implement as early as 4 months. If not, don’t worry, we were a bit scared of that too! Early learning can be a frightening thing, especially for new parents. Sara Keel, the momma behind Babycup understood this and came up with a less far fetched idea. Her name-to-fame lies within training your Littles as early as 4 months on a cup. Sounds amazing right?! This can be made entirely possible with Babycup. A UK brand that is recommended by health professionals and parents alike.
